Why does a wired session show no IP address or data usage?

Because the switch does not tell us, and we would rather show you nothing than invent it.

It is the equipment, not the connection type. A wireless access point handles the whole conversation with the device and reports its address and its byte counters. A switch is a simpler thing: it authorises a port, and the device's address comes from a DHCP server the switch plays no part in. So there is nothing for it to report, and Passbeam only ever shows what the equipment actually sent.

It is not about RADIUS versus RADSec either. The same switch would report the same nothing over either, and a wireless network sending over plain RADIUS reports the address perfectly well.

What a wired session shows instead is the switch port — Gigabitethernet 0/17 — which is arguably the more useful answer for a desk machine. If you need the address as well, your DHCP server or your switch's own client list has it, keyed by the MAC address on the session.

Some managed switches can be configured to report a device's address, and where one does, it appears here with no change at our end.
